I am sort of flabbergasted...to say the least! I have spent much of the weekend off line and to return on this fine Monday morning to a world of happy birthday wishes and love from all of you...my friends and family....is definitely touching my heart and soul. For that I say THANK YOU!
Oddly, this year I decided to not host my annual bday bash. Why? I guess something has changed in me. Who knows! I am not interested in writing about that reflection in today's blog. I am instead going to describe my fabulous weekend for you all. LOL!!!
As much as it may seem quiet (which it was) it was perfect and had just enough of everything.
Friday...went straight to the gym after work....then met up with my mom and a dear friend of the family for some dinner. It was wonderful. We went to this fine dining Italian resto where I decided to treat myself to a plate of penne with sausage....it was friggin delicious and I ate it all!!! LOL
Saturday morning woke up and went for my workout. Super intense kickboxing....loved it! Went home to get ready for the afternoon at the Spa with my ladies; mom and sister. We arrive just over an hour before our massages to spend some time in the baths; salt water, cold/hot and in the steam/sauna rooms. Once were were done with that...we were already in a bit of relaxation coma...lol. We then moved onto the massages which were out of this world except mine got interrupted with 15 minutes to go because the clock stopped working and my massage therapist thought we were done. If I hadn't been so sedate I would have put a up a bit of a fuss...but....I was struggling to stand up let alone put on my confrontational hat to deal with this matter. So...I let it ride. This afternoon was topped off with a kick ass lunch at Lou Dawg's on King St. The service wasn't that great but the food was....so....not all bad! I ended that day with a movie; Bridesmaids with my sister. I laughed my ass off...especially because I could relate to that situation with being a bridesmaid myself for a wedding coming in July. Hysterical to say the least!
Finally...my actual birthday; Sunday! Woke up....of course had to do my workout. I had to hustle to get ready to meet up with my sister and nephew at which point we were heading to Toronto to have Dim Sum with my dad/step mom and cousin. SO GREAT!!! Man....I love dim sum! It has been a ritual event with my dad since I was born practically. Best time ever!!!! Once lunch was done....toured around Yorkville for a bit. Funny how things happen....I ran into a friend from awhile back while walking around. It was so great to see her!!! After my afternoon with the fam....came the highlight of my weekend, month, year....!!! I went to go see my all time favorite band play a show; SUBLIME!!!
Now...we all know that the original lead singer Bradley died back in the 90's and he could never be replaced. But...know this; this guy Rome? He is ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!! I was worried but excited and he blew me away! I thought I was going to shed some tears out of total joy and bliss. This was a dream come true for me and I really do owe it all to one person and as much as I would like to write his name down....I can't! Let's just call him my Polish friend. LOL He has captured my heart folks. What a gift and what a treat. I am sort of speechless...still! I couldn't have asked for a better gift or better time. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Once again world; THANK YOU ALL for making this a memorable time for me. I love you all! xoxoxo
