Just got back from a couple days up north...Sauble Beach! Now....I realize that this isn't the 'nicest' getaway or the most affordable for what you get however....it is on my favourite body of water; Lake Huron. Oh how do I love thee....Lake Huron! I swam out....oh goodness.....far from the beach and I could still see the sand at the bottom. So friggin beautiful! It was the perfect temperature....slightly cold but warm enough that you wouldn't freeze your ass off.
The road trip up there, with Mr. Fabulous was long and winded but because we decided or rather I decided to take the long route because I wanted to stop in a couple small towns that I had sailed to and really wanted to visit again; Kincardine and Port Elgin. What should have taken 2.5 hours....took close to 5. Ekkk!!! As soon as we arrived; we checked in and got wet in the pool/ hot tub. So great! From there we got ready and walked the town and found a pretty decent resto right on the water. So so great! We were both pretty tired so the night ended relatively early.
Sunday morning we wake up, get some breakfast and then hit up the beach. I think part of the reason why I love this particular beach so much is because you can drive right up on to it....park your car and get settled right there. Sort of perfect in my eyes. Don't have to haul all your gear around! Anywho....we lay out some towels and blanket and get some sun for a bit before getting wet. Shortly after we see some major weather coming about. We pack up our stuff and decide to do some window shopping to occupy ourselves during what we thought would be a light shower. Well....Sauble Beach's town....is so small that you can conquer it in about 30 minutes...lol! What started out as light showers turns into a major storm. We take shelter at a patio bar and have drinks. FYI; this is at 11:45am. LOL!!! We camp out there for an hour or so until the weather gets out of hand and we get rained out. We decide to go and get food. Almost right away the storm passes. It came as fast as it went. YAY!!! Then comes Mr. Sunshine all over again and we had the whole afternoon with kick ass sun and heat. PERFECT!!! Did some major tanning, swimming and even managed a walk down the beach. LOVED IT!!!!
It was probably around 5pm when we decided we had had enough sun and we both agreed we needed a nap. Side note here; I am battling a cold/cough. I was doing my best to not think about this major pain in the ass and in turn....by the time we decided to nap....I was well over due and had the best nap EVER. We both woke up refreshed and ready to carry on. We strolled to the 'fun park' that was, by the looks of it, deserted. I guess the weather puts a hold on 'fun'...lol! There were go karts and a ride, called the Spider, in action so Mr. Fabulous and I hit up the ride. Ekkkk!!! I was sure I was going to vomit during or after this ride....but luckily....I did alright! LOL
After the ride I hit up the slide which apparently is the biggest slide ever....lmao! NOT!!! I think it was all of 3 seconds of fun. Meh....whateves! From there went for dinner. This resto was recommended to us but I believe it was because there are only like 5 restos to choose from...not because it was something to write home about...lol!! It was horrible; the experience was bad and the food was bad!!! None-the-less, Mr. Fabulous made every moment fun and enjoyable....so no complaints!!!
Speaking of Mr. Fabulous....this weekend had a bunch of firsts in it! It was our first getaway and our first overnight together. He is still Mr. Fabulous!!! LMAO!!! I really can't describe what makes him so fabulous. He is just amazing.....an amazing man!!! Ugghhh!!! Speechless....again!!!
Well folks....I have been back in the city for just shy of 4 hours and I am still riding the wave of peace and relaxation.
I want to apologize for missing 2 days last week. As you know....it takes a lot for me to bail on blogging. Working those 16 hour days really puts a damper on my A-game and energy levels. I will try to fix this.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Till tomorrow xo
